The Heron and Rose

Hello and Welcome to The Heron and Rose!

My name is Wendy Jane, and I am the creator behind The Heron and Rose. This blog is a place where the everyday beauty of nature is celebrated. I created this site as my online nature journal, where I can share my musings, photos, and illustrations of the natural world that surrounds me. I see beauty in all types of environments, from splashes of green in dense urban settings to suburban gardens and rural landscapes. My hope is that The Heron and Rose is a place that inspires you to bring nature into your own life and experience the joy and wonder of exploring what nature has to offer. 

The photos that I share with you were taken using a Nikon D80 camera that I received secondhand, and the illustrations that I create for this blog are created primarily using watercolours and also water-mixable oil paints. For me, creativity is something that is always growing and expanding, so I look forward to experimenting and bringing new mediums and styles into my nature illustrations.
